Originally painted after a 2024 roadtrip out west, my favorite time of day was “prairie dog o’clock” which was dawn and dusk. The prairie dogs would perk up from their holes and watch the sun get low, so many of them, sometimes thousands! The hummingbird signifies our beloved grandmother who passed away in 2023 showing up throughout our roadtrip, at every campsite in the form of many Hummingbirds. We got to watch their mating dances, some even flew inches from our faces and hovered staring us in the face.
Definitely my favorite piece ever!
